Itinerary

“Art shakes the dust from the soul accumulated in everyday life.”
(Pablo Picasso)

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - PERUGIA

Pick up of the electric car in the afternoon.

Enjoy a typical Umbrian dinner featuring traditional local dishes at a selected restaurant.

    Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 2 - PERUGIA - DERUTA

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, choose one of the following activities:

    1) Visit the Giuditta Brozzetti weaving workshop in Perugia + Weaving or Embroidery Course:
This workshop is one of the last hand-weaving ateliers in Italy, where you can admire beautiful 18th and 19th-century looms still in operation. Ancient techniques are used to create historically inspired fabrics that are incredibly contemporary. The workshop offers daily weaving and hand-embroidery courses for groups (max. 4 people) or individuals, suitable for both beginners and experienced participants.

    2) Visit the Romano Ranieri ceramic workshop in Deruta + Course:
The “Romano Ranieri” Ceramic Art School, established in 2001, aims to creatively address the contrast between daily life needs and artistic aspirations. In this basic workshop, participants have access to all necessary equipment and materials to engage in hands-on work with the potter’s wheel and/or decoration. An experienced instructor will ensure the quality of the works created, helping each participant express their artistic potential. Completed pieces will be available for pickup one or two days after the course (excluding pieces made on the wheel, which require additional drying time).

    Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 3 - PERUGIA - DERUTA

    Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, choose one of the following activities:

    1) Visit the Moretti Caselli glass studio in Perugia:
Since 1860, this family of artists has been creating painted stained glass windows in the historic center of Perugia. Francesco Moretti (1833–1917) studied ancient texts on chemistry and glassmaking, and, along with his nephew Lodovico Caselli (1859–1922), created a series of extraordinary works found in many Italian and foreign cities. The studio still houses many working machines and tools, although some are no longer in use. The most important feature is the wood-fired kiln, which Francesco Moretti designed in detail to achieve the required temperatures.

    2) Visit the Regional Ceramics Museum of Deruta:
Founded in 1898, the museum houses 6,000 works and is located in the former San Francesco complex, which has been completely restored. The exhibition spans three floors, starting with a teaching room, and showcases the evolution of Deruta maiolica, from ancient to 20th-century productions.

    Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 4 – PERUGIA - ASSISI

    Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, choose one of the following activities:

    1) Visit the National Gallery of Umbria:
Located within the Palazzo dei Priori, a prime example of Italian Gothic architecture, the gallery houses works from the 13th to the 19th century by artists such as Arnolfo di Cambio, Duccio di Boninsegna, Gentile da Fabriano, Beato Angelico, Piero della Francesca, as well as a rich collection of works by Perugino and his students. The 17th and 18th centuries are represented by paintings by Orazio Gentileschi, Pietro da Cortona, Sebastiano Conca, and Corrado Giaquinto.

    2) Visit the Roman Domus in Assisi:
Two recently discovered Roman houses: the Domus of Propertius, found beneath the apse of the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, consists of three interconnected rooms, two of which have their original mosaic floors and traces of wall decorations; and the Domus of the “Lararium,” discovered beneath Palazzo Giampè, which is only viewable from above in order to preserve the beautifully restored mosaics and frescoes.

In the afternoon return of the electric car.
